RMHC U.S. Scholarship Program

What is it?

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chattanooga offers 25, $2,000 scholarships annually to local college-bound students. The RMHC U.S. Scholarship Program is funded in part through donation box promotions at local McDonald’s restaurants.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, along with RMHC Global, offers scholarships to students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

Scholarships are jointly funded by grants from the global Ronald McDonald House Charities and the fundraising efforts of local McDonald's owner/operators and corporate staff. Since the program began in 2002, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga has awarded more than $642,750 in scholarship funds to 556 high school students who reside in the Tennessee Valley and surrounding areas.

Who Is Eligible? 
To apply, students must be high school seniors; be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full course of study, reside in a participating local RMHC Chapter's geographic area; and submit an application online-only and all required documentation by the deadline.

Students of all backgrounds are eligible to apply for the Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarships.

How to Apply:

Students may apply online starting October 2016.  Click here to apply!  Graduating high school seniors may apply to only one of the four scholarships.  The four scholarships are: RMHC®/Scholars, RMHC®/Asia, RMHC®/African-American Future Achievers, and RMHC®/HACER®.  Applicants will be notified of their scholarship award status in May-June 2017.


The deadline to apply for the 2016-2017 academic year is January 18, 2017.
