“The staff and volunteers were a blessing. It was absolutely overwhelming to see the love they (Staff and Volunteers) shared.”

Jonathan Franks

Jonathan Franks was a healthy and happy toddler until about a year ago at age 2 1⁄2 when he was diagnosed with Leukemia during surgery for a suspected brain tumor. For the past year, Jonathan has been undergoing cancer treatment which has meant multiple visits to the hospital for the family. The family lives about 40 miles away in Dalton, Georgia. Jonathan’s parents, Elizabeth and Jeremy have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House on several occasions.  “The House that love built is so fitting,” said Elizabeth Franks. “Because of the Ronald McDonald House, I am able to focus all my attention on my son.”  The Franks say having a comfortable place to stay, daily meals and a convenient access to their son’s medical treatment facility has been a great resource for the family.
